Reclaiming the Body Through Life, Loss, & Liberation

Identity-affirming somatic therapy and integrative care for those moving through grief, trauma, transitions and transformation.

About Aiyla

Honoring the Full Spectrum of Human Experience

I'm Aiyla Sahar Cook (they/them), a neurodivergent, queer, disabled Somatic Therapist (LPCC), Death Doula, and integrative healing practitioner. I’m also autistic, and I bring both lived experience and deep training to my work supporting those navigating what feels too complex, too painful, or too invisible to name.

Of Bone and Bloom is rooted in the belief that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about remembering that you were never broken to begin with. You adapted to survive. Now, it’s time to reclaim the parts of you that have been hidden, silenced, or fragmented.

My work is relational, body-based, and identity-affirming, grounded in a socially just and decolonizing lens. I specialize in trauma integration, grief and loss (including disenfranchised and ancestral grief), chronic illness and pain, identity exploration, death anxiety, and navigating the thresholds of major life transitions. I support clients through the moments where things fall apart—and the quiet, powerful work of becoming something new.

Whether you’re grieving someone or something unrecognized, unraveling trauma, or seeking to reconnect with your body on your own terms, I offer grounded, authentic presence. I draw from Somatic Body Psychotherapy, Trauma-Informed Mindfulness, Humanistic-Existentialism, and Transpersonal practices to co-create a space where your wholeness is not questioned—it’s reclaimed.

This work invites you back to yourself—not just to survive, but to feel, to move, and to live in a way that’s real, rooted, and wholly yours.

My ultimate goal is to support you in transforming your relationship with yourself and others into a fully lived experience, rooted in autonomy, inner wisdom, and authentic connection.

My Philosophy

My Approach to Embodied Integration

Grounded in authenticity, relational integrity, and a commitment to healing that honors complexity, culture, and nervous system wisdom

Relational & Rooted in Connection

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it unfolds in relationship. I prioritize real, attuned connection rooted in authenticity, consent, and trust. Our work honors the space between us as a site of trust, reflection, and repair. This is a space where your full humanity is welcomed without fixing, forcing, or pretending. Together, we co-create a grounded, non-judgmental container where your truth can emerge at your pace, and your body leads the way home.

Making Space for the Unseen

I hold space for the parts of you that have been hidden, silenced, or reshaped for survival. Together, we approach what lives in the shadows—not to pathologize it, but to witness, listen, and integrate. Through a socially just and decolonizing lens, we explore the stories, sensations, and truths that have been kept out of view, creating space for reclamation, healing, and more authentic ways of being.

Embodied Insight

My work is rooted in the body’s innate wisdom but also in the realities of what it means to live in a body shaped by trauma, illness, and survival. Together, we develop inner resources, build relationship with bodily cues, and gently integrate responses that may no longer serve you. Whether your body feels like home or something distant, we work at your pace to cultivate trust, awareness, and the capacity to be in relationship with yourself, just as you are.

Identity-Affirming & Accessible

I offer inclusive, identity-affirming care for all, especially those whose voices have been silenced or overlooked. My approach to somatic integration is adaptive, responsive, and rooted in the belief that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Together, we work with your body, culture, lived experience, and inner wisdom to shape care that honors your unique needs, values, and capacity. Every session is modified to meet you, not the other way around.

Thresholds & the Living Grief

Grief isn’t something to get over, it’s something we learn to live alongside. Whether you’re mourning a death, the life you thought you’d have, or parts of yourself shaped by survival, I hold space for what’s tender, unfinished, and true. This work honors the thresholds you’re crossing—loss, transition, becoming—and helps you stay connected to yourself within the ache, without rushing to move on.

Care Beyond the Clinical

Not everything we carry can be spoken and not all healing happens through words alone. In addition to somatic therapy, I offer integrative care that includes energy work, Reiki, intuitive healing, and grief and death support, addressing the body, nervous system, and the subtle layers of self. This is care that honors the unseen: sensations, connections, emotions, ancestral echoes, and spiritual disconnection. Together, we tend to what lives beneath the surface.

Comprehensive Care

Somatic & Integrative Healing Offerings

Embodied, adaptive care that honors your story, your nervous system, and your journey.

Somatic Therapy & Integration

Somatic healing for reconnecting to your truth, rebuilding trust in your body, and reclaiming identity.

Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach that supports you in reconnecting with your internal landscape—even when your body doesn’t feel like a safe or familiar place. Through attuned, identity-affirming care, we explore the survival responses held in your system and support your capacity to feel, regulate, and relate with greater ease. This is not about forcing change, but about cultivating a relationship with your body that is rooted in trust, curiosity, and compassion.
